This project was inspired by Lynn's trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, the painting Into the World There Came a Soul Called Ida by Ivan Albright and the commentary by Renee Engeln, PhD, Professor of Psychology at Northwestern University in which she says, "It is exhausting to be an aging woman in a world that cannot distinguish between being old and being grotesque. Ida seems to barely have the strength to hold the mirror or the energy to consider what she knows it will reveal. I want Ida to be angry. I want her to rage against those who taught her that a woman's power comes from her youth, from her ability to tempt others with her beauty.​ Life's beauty pageant was never worth your time in the first place. Put the mirror down, Ida. Break it. Stomp on it.
